Venables concerned with playmaking ability of Jacoby Brissett

Defensive coordinator Brent Venables told the media Tuesday afternoon that his defense will have to have a better effort this Saturday against N.C. State and quarterback Jacoby Brissett than they had in the second half of last weekend's win over UNC. Photo by Rob Kinnan / US PRESSWIRE Full Story »

I'm afraid we are looking at another 90-100 point game, if we have the ball last we can pull it out. Our defense aint so special.

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger

If we are the team that has the 100, I'm good with that W.

Bring pressure then more pressure. When a QB has to think about running first then his whole game is off.

We've shown we can contain these types before. See Ohio St

I'm sure the lack of effort the second half last week has gotten their attention. Not to mention, seeing how FSU attacked will only help us more than them.

Or do the coaches always do a good job of making me feel like we're going to struggle against an oppoenent the week before we play them? I wasn't concerned that we'd lose to UNC until I started reading their interviews. I wasn't concerned about N.C. State despite their game against FSU. Now I am. I know this home crowd will make it tough for the pack and our offense under Watson's helm will make some plays and score some points. Go Tigers!

Good coaching. Danny billed every opponent as NFL-caliber.

Venables is wisely setting expectations. But even so...

Having watched that FSU-NCSU game, I think Venables is truly and justifiably concerned about NCSU's offense. Clemson's D needs to bring their A-game for 4 quarters.

I doubt Morris is as concerned about NCSU's defense.

Our defense has made some mistake this season, but for the most part are playing well. Watson has improved the offense which helps the defense. Our front on defense is playing awesomely. The Secondary is also playing better than we have seen in years. 4 games into the season we already have 4 picks. Alexander knows his position, Smith and Kearse are playing good, and Johnson has shown exceptional speed and coverage skills. Find a way to keep these guys on the field together and I say we will have no problem.

I'm just haunted by the D's collapse in the second half against UNC. They better bring their A game for four quarters or it could be a long afternoon.

That picture tho...doing it WRONG!***

This is the best QB we've faced so far

Defense has to play better than last week if we are to win. Same with the Oline.
