Jackson finds redemption in second chance.

Nov 1, 2010, 7:38 PM

Jackson finds redemption in second chance.

It would have been easy for senior kicker Richard Jackson to quit following fall practice. Instead of packing it in, however, Jackson stuck with it, and will more than likely be the kicker when Clemson plays N.C. State this weekend. Full Story »

Can he make XPs this year? lol.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I just hope

Nov 1, 2010, 7:43 PM

He can find a way to kick the ball between the posts. What a better way to stick it to the guy that demoted you for a walk on than to make him look like an idiot. Richard Jackson is a better man than I am if that isn't part of his motivation.

Well, he could have

taken a road trip with Korn, until he found a place suitable for him, then TigerNet would have had two former players to make fun of.

Yeah he is the answer***

Don't know if he'll be any better but he desrves a chance based on Catman's continuous "FAILS"

Are the coaches recruiting anyone to kick? It's so critical

Nov 1, 2010, 9:44 PM

Place kicking is such a critical part of the game but we never seem to have a great place kicker. Catman hasn't gotten it done. This is Jackson's last season. Benton doesn't seem to be an option for FGs. What's the plan for next year? Is it that hard to find good kickers?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It must be. I can't remember the last time we had a kicker

Nov 1, 2010, 9:49 PM

that I didn't worry about missing kicks.....the 80's?

jad dean was very solid his junior year before falling apart as a senior

I may be wrong, but wasn't Jackson a Parade AA in HS?

Sometimes recruits change from HS to college. Maybe it's that lack of constant parental supervision, maybe it's a new girlfriend, who knows?

Yes

I saw him kick like a 65 yarder in high school, it made ESPN top ten. In warm ups he could nail 70 plus yarders, but of course that was kicking off of a tee. He was hearing from places like USC, LSU, etc. Can't remember who all offered him, but he was highly sought after. If he'd applied himself a little better, he would have panned out better in college.

Byrnes has one heck of a kicker right now who is a junior. I saw him play for three quarters last month, and he kicked a 50 yarder, and a 40 something yarder, plus was kicking extra points on to the softball field. I asked about him on here, and was told he is in the top five in his class. But, the bad news is, if this is true, his dad kicked at UGA in the early 80s. So, when it comes to him making a college decision, I don't know for sure, but would imagine he'd follow in daddy's footsteps.

Yes, he came in with Spiller, Ford et al. Who's next?***

Let's hope he does better than last years FSU game

Nov 1, 2010, 11:22 PM

We must of set a record for missed kicks that game

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did you seriously confuse "no" with "know?"***
