"I've been working since I was 15 continually until now. I worked 40 hours a week at 15, when it wasn't even legal for 15 year olds to work that many hours."

That is what drives me nuts about USuCk and Superior...

and Louse Boltz. They are taking them to the Outback and could win it for the third time this decade, compared to their prevous history. However 15 years ago or more, 8-3 may not necessarily get you to a bowl, much less 6-6 or 7-5.

I remeber when CU went 7-4 in '75 I think

Beat Ga and GT that year at home. In fact undefeated at home I believe. Not a sniff of a bowl. Used to be you had to be good. Now you have to be average. It is sad.

Re: 1974 good, not great.

Dec 9, 2008, 8:57 AM [ in reply to I remeber when CU went 7-4 in '75 I think ]

The problem that 7-4 season was not the games we won, but the games we lost, which included blow-out defeats to Texas A&M (24-0), NC State (31-10) and Maryland (41-0).

A win instead of the close loss in Knoxville could have made the difference, but we got jobbed and our 7-4 record was only good enough for a souvenier Pepsi bottle in the end.

can have a playoff but can send two 6-6 hacks to the hinterlands to play in some crummy bowl. If that is a reward I'd hate to see punishment

Why would anyone want less football to watch?***

Agree totally!

People say there are too many bowls, but who does it hurt? You get football almost every night! It beats watching people eat bugs, jump through a wall, or complain about their addictions to drugs or food.

conference record this year as a conference (37-11). I know some of those W's are against weak schools from weak conferences, but just a few short weeks ago, we (the ACC) were everyone's favorite whipping boy. Nice to see our "weak" conference be the first ever to place 10 teams in bowl games.

ACC #1 in Sagarin SOS. ACC was 13-8 vs. Big-6 conferences

Dec 11, 2008, 12:33 PM

Even if we take out the non-conference cupcakes, the ACC did pretty well.

For starters, the ACC's strength of schedule ranked #1 with Sagarin.
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbc08.htm

And this season the ACC is 13-8 vs. the Big 6 conferences. 14-8 if you include ND.
ACC vs. SEC: 6-4.
ACC vs. Big12: 4-0.
ACC vs. Big East: 2-2.
ACC vs. PAC10: 1-1.
ACC vs. Big10: 0-1.

I don't think that the 2-3 teams in the ACC would have stacked up well against the top 3 teams in the SEC or Big 12. (The other conferences seem much more top heavy.) But the ACC schools held up well against the competition thereunder.
