I think he can

as long as it was determined before the game that he would only go 3 innings. Coach Leggett and staff do that all the time, especially early in the year.

Doesn't matter....It wasn't an official game then

Whoever pitched the 5th is the winning pitcher

is this the 1st time you have followed a clemson game. jack uses the 3 inning rule a lot during the early season.

No, not the first time. Did not know it was planned***

In NCAA, the pitcher must also go 5 innings, same as MLB, unless it is a scheduled 7 inning game, in which case he has to go four.

An exception is made if the coach announces BEFORE the game that he will be using at least 3 pitchers:

10-25-b2: By prearrangement, if three or more pitchers are to be used, the pitcher of record shall be considered the winning pitcher.

Don't confuse them with the facts.

Ah yes, that's the rule

Feb 29, 2008, 11:30 AM

I knew it had something to do with 3, but I thought it was 3 innings, not 3 pitchers. But the 3 pitchers rule is right.
