How is Richard Jackson ranked 40 spots ahead of Chason?

I know Chason had a rough time last year, part of that had to do with the fact that every time he punted it was almost blocked (friggin punt shield formation). But Richard Jackson hasn't taken a single kick...AND HE'S A PUNTER!
What's more amazing to me is he's about thirty spots ahead of a valuable backup like Tim Debeer. An offensive lineman is far more valuable than a punter who may make 4 or 5 kicks a game.
Plus Jackson may end up redshirting this year. There is no way he should be ranked this high

Did you watch the bowl game last year? Our defense dominated but because our punter sucks, Colorado was still able to hang in the ball game. On one exchange of punts in the first half, Colorado gained 40 yards of field position. I have heard that Jackson hits 50+ yard punts consistently. If he played in the bowl game last year, Clemson wins by three touchdowns

takes EVEN LONGER than CC to get a punt off.
If he was better, don't you think he would play ????

year's back up? There has been little to no talk of Jackson's release, and I was one of the recruiting junkies reading everything written about our new guys.

season. The guy is one of the best punters in the entire country. Yes, our punt formation sucked, but it didn't suck that bad. I'm glad were changing it, but there are other schools that use that formation and do just fine with it. One reason we had so many blocked punts is that Chason wasn't getting the ball off fast enough. I'd put money on Jackson being our starting punter next season.

I would say that Debeer would be higher than McDuffie, because I beleive he plays a great deal more. And Clark would have to be a little lower on my list as well. He will have to work really hard to get back on the 2-deep with some of the d-line talent we have there.
As for the incoming freshman, there is no way for us to know how good they will be next year. They haven't even put on the pads for Clemson yet, but it is fun to think/hope about! I hope Jackson can be the starter, or atleast make Chason get much much better!

Mickey take note - This ranking thing is a BAD idea

Rank our Team against other teams. Rank our players against other teams' players.
It's not necessary for us to rank our own players... this isn't fantasy sports and we're not in trade negotiations.
This ranking is as useless as the 100 most unsexy male celebrities http://thephoenix.com/article_ektid7852.html

decide who suits up for road games. Oh, wait a minute who is going to hold for place kicks, now? I don't agree with all your rankings, but you have a thought provoking way of looking at things. It is only April.

Mickey is some kind of god. Why is it so horrible to disagree with someone? People have the right to read and disagree with his thoughts. Why is it whining to voice your opinion? On one side you say Mickey has the right to say whatever he wants because its just his opinion. I agree with you. Conversely, it should be equally acceptable for someone to voice a differing opinion than his or yours. BTW I'm really not trying to stir the pot but I just can't understand why anyone would get so offended just because a person states a different view point.
