They are really found stuck up each others AS$ES doing as much as possible to destroy FB as we know it. In 10 years, the rules of football will be changed to where protective equipment will no longer necessary to play the game that use to be called FB. Even the name will be change to Co Ed ball, FB played mixed with men and women, and tackling skills will be a thing of the past!!! 10 years!!!

I was coming here to comment about it but you beat me to it.

Dang! Somebody paid good money to find this out.

I wonder if they know that automobiles travelling at a high rate of speed that crash into stationary objects or other automobiles are more likely to cause injuries than cars parked in a garage with no one inside?

We could get rid of concussions all together***

I do A TON of research with my job

Apr 14, 2017, 5:49 PM [ in reply to Research shows "that practices with tackling are more likely ]

my job in medicine is a ton of research, and my Master's is a ton of research. I spend more time on Pubmed than I do Pornhub...errr I mean Tigernet. Anyway, that is definitely like doing research to find out if jumping out of an airplane without a parachute, hitting the ground at terminal velocity, causes an increase in mortality.

I am sure it was a Ph.D. that did this research to justify his/her existence.

USUC researchers could have even figured that one out.

Nothing like a big game of two hand touch! Can't have blocking. Someone could get a hang nail. Go tigresses!

Forrest Gump was kicked off the committee

Apr 16, 2017, 2:14 PM

for being too smart! "Activities such as meetings, film review, medical treatment and meals are allowed during recovery time."

Does this mean someone thought that medical treatment and eating should not be allowed during recovery time??

Who knows how many years and hundreds of thousands of man hours and dollars were thrown into this epic study. Of course, momma used to say it was time to come in when she thought I had played enough. Did anyone on this committee think to just ask somebody's momma? Did anyone on this committee have a momma?

Where did the 3 hrs for this and 2 hrs for that come from? I think they should have to produce the research to support their decisions.

None of us want to see players get hurt, particularly concussion injuries which are cumulative. Even though this will likely be better for athletes (unless lack of practice or conditioning makes someone more prone to injury???), I just hate when idiots come out with something ridiculously obvious as if it was the discovery of the atom. Guess two digit IQ people gotta work some where?

While the research referenced here is dumb and obvious,

Apr 16, 2017, 2:25 PM

the decision to eliminate two-a-days still makes sense. Two contact practices in short succession with minimal recovery time in between is just inherently more dangerous. That's about as obvious as tackling being more dangerous than not tackling.
