Christmas Eve in Orlando: Bowl practice observations

Russell Athletic Bowl practice got underway Wednesday afternoon in balmy 80-degree conditions and with Santa Clause is Coming to Town blaring from the Citrus Bowl Stadium speakers. How did Deshaun Watson look? What is the latest on Jay Jay McCullough?

DeShaun, man how you played with a torn ACL is beyond me. I just had meniscus surgery and it is painful. I can't imagine how you did it but you did great. Keep working on that leg. We know you are a great athlete. You will be back before we know it.

Know all my Tigers will bring me a late Christmas Present. Go Tigers... most don't believe in you guys who are betting ... they don't know the Tigers heart. We Do. Go Tigers.

Not looking good for McCullough. Does anybody know why he has been suspended? Missing all this practice seriously puts his roster spot in jeopardy. He's going to have to compete with Garret Williams, Milan Richard, Cannon Smith, Jordan Legget, and a (hopefully) healthy Stanton Seckinger. I really don't see how he can keep his spot with all the young and incoming talent. Bummer for him and us. Sounds like we could really use some more bodies at TE for the bowl game. Does anybody know if Legget is expected to play?

Man, I wish I felt better about this bowl

I just don't have good vibes about winning it.
Or, even keeping it close.

If I am wrong, I deserve it....
(told you so, etc..

If that is the way you feel about the #1 defense in the country, (not even close) if we win I hope that no one would even waste their time in telling you I told so.

this turns out to be another 1989 type game, then I like our chances.
But I don't see us holding them to under 10 points- which IMO is what needs
to happen for us to win.

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Is that a chew in Streeter's jaw? Shades of Danny Ford!***

GG Galloway, wow I remember that name from the P.A.

Dec 31, 2014, 12:18 AM

system when I first started going to games as a youngster in 1974. For some reason that name always stayed in my head. I guess the way it just sounded like it rolled off the announcers tongue.
