New Story: Kearse on critical fourth down play: We knew what was coming

Kearse on critical fourth down play: We knew what was coming

If Clemson’s defense looked like they knew what was coming on 4th-and-goal and the game hanging in the balance Saturday afternoon, it’s because they did. Safety Jayron Kearse told TigerNet after the game that it was a play the Tigers practiced Thursday afternoon, knowing the Cardinals would try and run the play at crunch time. Full Story »

BV is an amazing coach to have them prepared for that!

A situational play from CBP coaching western KY. Great job preparing for anything! And kudos to the players for the execution!

Well if they knew what was coming why was a receiver standing in the end zone wide open? Nobody near him. If Williams doesn't put that big paw up and bat it down we lose. Just speaking the truth.

I counted 5 orange jerseys between the QB and a receiver ...

What I don't fully understand is letting them get the 75 yard catch and run when we had the pinned deep in their own territory. How does that happen ??

It was 1st and 10 on the 73 yd play***

Just watched the play again and #17 looks like he

went out of bounds then came back in to make that catch.

And you're right of course ... on the down. (I fixed it) ;)

Clemson is good for that every year. I feel a lot better about a 3rd and 5 then I ever do about a 3rd and 25 as we will give up 25 much easier than we'll give up 5. Although - this wasn't 3rd down I don't think - but still.

1st of all he wasn't standing. He was coming off the ground

trying to stand up and the throw was being made. Plus there was a guy to his left and a guy to his right and 3 guys in front, one of which batted the ball down.

You obviously didn't see the same play I did. Don't be so bitter they couldn't execute and win the game.

Wide open? I just watched replay. No one is close to open.

I don't need to watch a replay. There was a sea of orange

that shifted *exactly* where that play was designed to go.

So glad the one who ran and tackled the runner on that 73 yard run. Can't remember his name or number. If he has not hustled like he did we would not be cheering today. Great Job guys.

Act like you've been there. But it was a critical save from hundreds of "Clemsoning" comments.

The D deserves every ounce of credit for winning this game for us. They should be proud.
