Sounds like a wonderful young man who will do well in life with or without football. Crohn's disease if I understand correctly is a chronic and lifetime illness. It is intermittent and can be extremely debilitating. Is Kelly go be healthy enough to play college football?

There have been NFL players with Crohn's, most recently I think is David Gerard, and who have done fairly well. It is intermittent, but fairly manageable in many cases.

Hard to control these flare-ups...IV medicine every 6 to 8 weeks. It will very difficult for him playing football and gaining weight. My daughter has had it for 15 years and 3 surgeries which resulted in losing 30" of intestine...

Everyone's case is different. I was recently diagnosed with Crohns, but it's fairly minor so far. A lot of people don't require surgery.
