Wounded Warriors visit Clemson

Marines from the Wounded Warrior Project visited Clemson Thursday afternoon, where they got a lesson in Clemson's military history and got a chance to run down the hill. Full Story »

Why aren't they wearing Clemson shirts? They should be given Clemson shirts first thing.
Looks like they are enjoying it.
Nice to know my university occasionally does something that doesn't make me shake my head in disbelief.

Semper Fidelis brothers and big ups to Clemson

Jun 27, 2014, 1:46 PM

for doing this...it just goes to show that there is so much more inside Clemson than just wins and losses....it's called Character, and standing for something bigger than your self-interest. Very proud to be a Tiger fan and things like this make the screen get blurry for this retired Marine Corps infantryman and DI.

Loved this! Many thanks to you for your service!

thanks a lot

retired two weeks ago and seeing Clemson do this made my day. One of the WW Battalion Marines was with me in Afghanistan. He is a Texas Longhorn fan and from Amarillo, TX. Just talked to him and he said that this has made him a Tiger fan as well....I told him it would and it did.

Yet another reason to be proud to be a Clemson Tiger

Jun 27, 2014, 2:46 PM

Our military history and legacy is second to very few. Not many know that in WW2, Clemson A&M produced more US Army officers than any school except for West Point and Texas A&M. And we've continued to produce leaders - in the military, in athletics, in business, and in the community.

GO TIGERS!

Also had the 3rd most casultiess in WWII behind west point and texas a&m..

This is actually an incorrect statement

Jun 28, 2014, 9:20 AM [ in reply to Yet another reason to be proud to be a Clemson Tiger ]

Clemson was behind Texas A&M as well as ALL service academies.

Still a feat though.

So who would be on board if the Clemson Corps

Jun 27, 2014, 2:49 PM

put out a T-shirt or polo or something that displayed the Clemson Corps logo (and/or perhaps the Wounded Warriors) and where proceeds went to the Wounded Warriors project? I'd do it in a second. I love the Military Appreciation Day t-shirts (those are my favorite Clemson T's to wear) but something like that would be really cool. Especially to be able to wear to the office. Anybody have any connections to the Clemson Corps that could look in to it?

Few schools have the proud military heritage of Clemson - it would be great to be able to display it at work and elsewhere!

I'm not the biggest fan of the Wounded Warrior Project

Charity Navigator is an excellent Web site that shows you the details of charities, including their finances. Wounded Warrior Project is a good charity, but their are better ones out there that do the same thing. See for yourself:

Wounded Warrior Project
http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=12842#.U40jHfldWrk

versus...

Operation Homefront (for example)

Check out the Web site to see all kinds of charities. Make your donation reach as far as it can!!

and respect given to our soldiers. Yet, in our nation's capital, they get milkshakes thrown on them. What a shame and disgrace that is to this country.
