We are starting to be able to recruit big-time. I think you are right in that this will have an accumulating effect. Talent tends to follow talent. As for incoming talent watch out for RB, Adam Choice. Have a feeling about this kid.

Does your recruiting class rank get bonus points based

May 14, 2014, 8:42 PM

on the total combined weight of all the defensive and offensive linemen?

I really don't know. We have two top ranked QB's coming in. I tend to think that our outstanding linemen commits play a big part in our currently having the #5 ranked class.

My biggest complaint about dabo has been going after the sexy skill players. The reason he has lost to fla st and usc is because of not having the skill in the trenches

Looking at the returning Dline and the incoming must be top OL class in the country along with the steady stream of skill positions he will be expected to win those games as well as the ones against lesser opponents.

Serious movement to be a team to beat nationally,

Glad to have another young man choose Clemson. :)

I don't know much about this youngster?

How does he compare to the other guys left on our board such as Boulware, the Baily kid from South Carolina and the kid from up there in Virgina. Can't remember his name at the moment.

As a coot fan this was one I hated to see go to you guys. He has been trending to clemson about the last monthnor so. This is a solid pick up for you guys. Nasty mean streak, strong as a bull. Congrats, nice pickup.

i like the fact that Michigan and Wisconsin wanted him

May 14, 2014, 9:09 PM

we know about the type of OL those schools like, particularly Wisconsin, who churns out OL to the NFL at the cyclic rate. He must be a big road grading nasty #######. That's just what we need....some big nasties with a big dose of mean in them.

I think that when the light goes on for Crowder, he will be a force of nature.

The lines on both sides, but especially the OL has been a missing piece of the puzzle. We have had some DL who were good, but not the whole unit and certainly a big drop off in talent of reserves. The OL has not been much of an asset as a whole. I think that has been evolving, and now we are working in earnest there to fix that weaker link with quality talent and character. We are in for great things at Clemson, IMO. Major kudos to Dabo and staff on getting it right.

We have some imponderables this year. Will the OL come through? I've heard that Cole Stoudt is up to 230, but can't any feedback as to this. If he is, then he becomes much more of a running threat. And if Tyshone Dye is healthy (as he will supposedly will be by fall camp), and Adam Choice proves to be the stud he's reputed to be, we could surprise a lot of people. We have the wide receivers, and Stoudt is an excellent passer. Our defense seems ferocious. Have we ever made a better hire that Brent Venebles? Going out on a limb here: If we play our best eleven, I think we can beat UGA and very Possibly FSU. Talked with a guy tonight who thinks B.J. Howard will be our starting RB because he's a senior and deserves it. "Deserves it??" If that happens, then the season is gone. Nuff said.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

D. J. Howard played hurt much of last year. It'll be diff...***
