That several people on this site act like victims either by the media or the coots. I agree that ESPN doesn't always have the nicest things to say about us but that's ok, we'll settle it on the field. It is our time. We all loved Tajh but we have more well rounded options now. And we look good. If they(ESPN) wants to call us underdogs that's fine but we will never be victims of anything other than some bad calls. We have a lot to be proud of.

big games for a change! Dual QB with Stoudt starting and exciting Swag cat coming in for quite a change of pace. Spurrier has been using wildcat effectively as change of pace for years, and now we have the perfect QB for it!

They'll be decent and seasoned, but not national championship caliber-- especially when it comes to run-blocking.

9th best offense? The one that won 11 games, won a BCS game (against a supposed much bigger, stronger, and more physical defense), the one which allowed a career backup to rush for over 1,000 yards, and the one who's team finished in the top 10?
Are we MNC caliber? I don't know about that, but saying, "I watched the OL last season" as a means to downgrade their performance and/or potential..that's kind of silly, no?

Do those sound like national championship-caliber stats to you?
And we lose our best OL (Thomas).
FSU abused our line. Now THAT group was national championship caliber. I'd expect the same abuse this year-- therefore no national championship. For the last several years, SCar has beaten our OL badly enough that I'm not sure we'll even win the state championship, let alone a national championship.

I said nothing about either last year's OL or this year's OL being MNC caliber, but regardless, you chose to downgrade the group based on negatives that are significantly outweighed by the positives. The body of work and end-of-season results show a high level of overall success by the offense. The offense doesn't succeed at that high level without the performance of the OL.
Your main focus is lost yardage and sacks, but the fact is most of the lost yardage is due to sacks. So in essence you're counting the same thing twice. Our offensive style leaves known mismatches on the LOS, but more importantly Tajh didn't show great presence in the pocket and wasn't the most fleet of foot in the pocket when pressure came. Sacks and hence lost yardage will go down if our next QB shows better pocket presence and mobility.
But again, I wouldn't pencil us in as a sure MNC contender, but using significantly outweighed negatives from one of the more successful seasons in Clemson history as a basis for your argument, that's illogical.

We've got a whole year to season this line. They're a good fit for the offense physically, and the 2-deep is full of game-ready talent.

Experience & depth helps but the talent isn't NC-caliber

You say the OL is a good fit for the offense, but as Morris has said many times, he WANTS to run a smash-mouth spread run-first offense. However, he hasn't been able to do that because the OL rarely pushes anyone around and rarely opens up holes. So Morris leaned heavily on the passing attack and perimeter running (sweeps, etc.) Again:
56th in rushing O. 76th in yards per carry (4.17 YPC). 103rd in TFLs allowed. 102nd in sacks allowed.
That doesn't look like a national championship caliber OL to me.

This generates 9 comments but #6-Dabo-ranking generated 192?

An analyst from ESPN (arguably the most influential sports media outlet) opines that Clemson is a sleeper for the pinnacle of football (last achieved by CU in 1981) and the T-Net link generated ~10 comments (so far). But when some nobody at (irrelevant) Athlon opined that Dabo is the 6th best coach in the ACC, the T-Net link (below) generated almost 200 comments. It seems like most T-Netters care far more about Dabo more than Clemson.
