New research could lead to safer football helmets

Read Update »

I have always pondered if they could do something similar

to Nascar and a football version of the HANS device. Where the helment is actually attached to the shoulder pad with a quick release to take it off quickly with something to protect the neck and spine more. Above my pay grade for sure but you would think they could do a little more.

We just need to get rid of the deadly Hurry-Up No-Huddle offense! That thing is like cigarettes!

Less form tackling and more leading with the helmet.

They should take a page from rugby and realize that these extra padded helmets are worse.

Until they figure out how to

Agree. All attempts are insignificant 'fractionals'...***

Let's hope the helmets are better than the press release. 15

Paragraphs may be a few too many. Jeez. I can't even pay attention.

That third paragraph with a Danny Ford voice and ending with ran the ball very good youngster!!

We would attract more RB's and Oline guys as we pulled out our first ten scripted plays that start with run the ball.
