always being so far out of sync with the other services.

And not just this year, or because they see this particular Clemson class way lower than the others.

I've frequently felt the same way when they've been too generous on some Clemson recruits.

Personally, I think Rivals gets it right most often year in and year out.

Why is that, or better yet, what is it about Clemson that most writers and sport services don't like about Clemson. Is it b/c of our winning ways over their big schools and boy programs.

I am guessing - no. Scout seems to have a significant subscriber base for some schools, and I highly expect that is reflected in how the determine final player rankings.
