Today is a "Tuesday" practice because Friday will be a "Saturday".

I'm just glad I'm not hearing how we've been as consistent as Alabama. Lets concentrate on heating up that secondary.

Who in the world is Maass?? This is seriously the first

Dec 30, 2013, 5:40 PM

Re: Who in the world is Maass?? I wonder if he could be

Dec 30, 2013, 6:09 PM

related to Wayne Maass who was an All American OT and Clemson and played in the NFL for several years too.

You re thinking of Wayne Mass - one 'a' not two. A great player in the sixties.

Dec 30, 2013, 6:44 PM

Wayne Mass and Harry Olzewski were great linemen. I think third team or HM all-america.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lou Cordileone was another great lineman who played in

Dec 31, 2013, 12:10 PM

Don Chuey - he was a great tackle and also played for the Rams

Based on the quality of that article's editing...

Dec 31, 2013, 10:21 AM [ in reply to Re: Who in the world is Maass?? I wonder if he could be ]

the spelling of the last name is not necessarily accurate IMO.

I would check another source for corroboration.

Wayne Mass is not spelled the same. Doubt he is any kin.

Andrew Maass is a kid from a small private school in Winnsboro SC Richard Winn Academy wide receiver walk on

I'll start it this time...

Dec 30, 2013, 5:47 PM

I heard Randy Shannon was out at practice cuz he is going to be our next HC when Dabo bolts for the browns.

Dec 30, 2013, 11:35 PM

Sorry to hear he is only listening to himself. That makes no sense at all. Does he think he has the experiences needed to give his decision a good evaluation? I think not.

Re: M Bryant

Dec 31, 2013, 10:25 AM

I'm sure he listens to all input and puts his own filter on it and that's probably what he means.

If that's the case, he's smart to take anything an Agent says with a huge grain of salt. The majority of them are looking for the here-and-now, immediate commission as opposed to what might be best for Bryant a year later with possibly someone else.

Dumb question

Dec 31, 2013, 7:29 AM

Can redshirted players play in bowl games or is it just the advantage of extra practice reps ? If so I guess I've never really noticed because we haven't had so many game changers to redshift. Hopefully meaning great things are on the horizon in Tiger football !

Re: Dumb question

Dec 31, 2013, 8:16 AM

you are correct

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So Redshirt players CAN play in the bowl without losing RS?

Dec 31, 2013, 10:25 AM

I didn't know that if it's true. Definitely not a dumb question.

Dec 31, 2013, 12:12 PM

They get the benifts of the extra practices to show coaches what they can do. Can't play in bowl game w/o losing rs.

Re: So Redshirt players CAN play in the bowl without losing RS?

Dec 31, 2013, 12:23 PM

Thanks I didn't think they could but a few tigernet stories lately were worded kinda odd to make me think that maybe I always thought wrong. Intresting thought my main concern for an 8 or 16 team playoff would be depth of the programs involved. Letting redshift players play in the playoffs without burning their redshirt would be a great way to alleviate that issue. It doesn't seem possible but hey back in the day no freshmen were allowed to play !!

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Brings back the memories of going to some freshmen games

Dec 31, 2013, 7:42 PM

at Clemson when freshmen from Clemson played freshmen from other colleges. Can't remember when freshmen started being eligible for varsity play.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Only not a dumb question if you just started following...

Dec 31, 2013, 4:26 PM [ in reply to So Redshirt players CAN play in the bowl without losing RS? ]

..college football w/in the past few days.

Anyone who has spent anytime following the game knows a kid can't play in the bowl game (and not give up their RS).

Good grief.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

Glad to know you know EVERYTHING about college football.
