Been hoping we would start recruiting the tidewater area again after Boyd and Branch. Glad to see this especially with Va and VT struggling. Help send them over the edge by stealing their players

we really need to beef up our Tiger Team with outrageous talent to compete with FSU & ND & Louisville..IMO.

We should always go after the best talent but focusing on

Dec 22, 2013, 12:25 PM

starts isn't the key. Stars for us like Shaq Anthony and DJ Reader are good examples of solid players we have developed. Add some of the higher rated players (some sites "stars"- arbitrary in my book) like Crowder and Pagano and our recruiting is pretty solid. Competing with FSU will always be a challenge even if our average "stars" for linemen were higher. Development is at least as important in my view.

UVA and VT almost never have as strong a class as we do.

At least in the last 5 or so years, VT hasn't been as good at getting top talent as FSU, us, and Miami within the ACC. Overall a good class for VT is breaking the 20 spot nationally. That's not bad, but it's not as good as we can do. So I'm not surprised when we land a solid VA state talent no matter how good VT or UVA (?) are playing.
