Save for not having track star speed, can anybody

Jan 23, 2013, 2:06 PM

give me even a single reason as to why Nuk shouldn't be a first-round selection? Great route-runner, steady increase in production over his three years at Clemson, no durability issues to speak of, great hands, and an intense work ethic. At #31, he'd be a steal. Can't wait to watch him in the NFL!

The only reason is that you generally want to take elite QBs, elite OL, elite DE/DL and even elite DBs in the 1st. You can find quality WR, RB and LB in later rounds.

2nd-3rd round generally presents the ideal cost/benefit scenario for WRs and TEs.

I can give you one: Size

Jan 23, 2013, 2:12 PM

Nuk isn't that big. He'll be up against much bigger and more physical corners in the NFL. Not saying he won't be successful, but his size may also hurt his draft stock.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nuk is 6-2" 215 or so. How big do you want him?

Jan 23, 2013, 2:14 PM

Good grief.....

Orange Googlers Unite

Save Tigernet--Boot the coots(you know who I mean).

Media outlets list him at 6'1", 200lbs

Jan 23, 2013, 2:54 PM

So already, you're wrong. Second, 6'1" is kind-- to say the least-- and Nuk is 200 pounds dripping wet with weights attached to his feet.

Let's wait until the combine, shall we?

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Whatever Nuk is listed at all you have to do is look at him

Jan 23, 2013, 4:20 PM

and you can tell he needs to add upper and lower body strength. That would have been the reason for him to stick around - to get a little bigger and stronger to compensate for his lack of top speed and make himself into a more likely first rounder.

Well a 5-9 175 Tavon Austin is projected ahead of him

Jan 23, 2013, 2:56 PM [ in reply to I can give you one: Size ]

soooooo...............

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Austin has the extra gear though.***

Yea for the first reception/run he makes

Jan 23, 2013, 4:28 PM

Then he's gonna get crushed by DB's twice his size. Sorry, but that's not NFL material.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Reggie Wayne is faring pretty well in the league at that

Jan 23, 2013, 4:49 PM [ in reply to I can give you one: Size ]

height. Nuk is pretty strong too and is obviously willing to keep attacking the weight room going forward like he has this past year. He's got outstanding football instincts on top of that and he's likely someone who is going to steer clear of trouble. I can see him being a stat leader at the next level provided he has a decent QB to toss it his way.

Let me guess, #31?***

"Anybody that says Coach Brownell is the best coach to come through Clemson is going to start an argument." -JP Hall

Nuk has always had "it".

Jan 23, 2013, 6:16 PM

That knack to come away with the ball when things are tightly covered.

Great hands, finding ways to get open and "it" that's what makes a true pro.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's a WR and the MOST important thing is HANDS. A given.***
