I don't think that neutral sites should profit a dime from our school busting heads against any opponent at anytime for any reason. Tenn Titans don't have nickel invested in Clemson sports. There fore, they shouldn't make a nickel from our FB program either.

Tennesse? Why? Just make it two home games for each.***

Hate this ideal just do a home and home. Nashville is to far for both schools.

Dude the CU fan base really has gotten soft if they won't drive to Nashville for a CU vs OSU game. Charmin freaking soft fan base

Re: Football Update: Rumors of a Clemson-Ohio St. matchup

You confuse soft with a rotten economy. Playing in a stadium and a state receiving big bucks that wouldn't serve SC nor Ohio without a collection plate in a neutral site. Why share those profits with Tenn. Play one game at Clemson, and another At Ohio St. And lets not share a dime with Tenn.

This is what big time programs do, folks...

Jan 9, 2013, 11:56 PM

I came all the way from New Mexico to watch my Tigers play their last three home games this year, and y'all are whining about traveling to Nashville on Labor Day weekend (great destination) four years from now? Wow, how about growing a pair...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: This is what big time programs do, folks...

Jan 11, 2013, 9:49 AM

I would bet that not one Clemson man has ever been neutered. So growing another pair would be a waste, also in the way. And they wouldn't fit well, not even in a pair of Hanes! Plus, it would double the devastating pain in an altercation. I'll just stick with the one big Orange pair I have.;)

it's called trying to make

Jan 10, 2013, 12:22 AM

the final jump from being a good program to becoming a national program. the same reason Notre Dame plays neutral site games all over the country, to be able to showcase your program in a major stage in regions of the country they wouldn't normally play in. build fan bases, extend recruiting. be happy that our program is getting to this point and quit f#####g crying, please!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

probably has more to do with playing in one of those kickoff

Jan 10, 2013, 2:48 AM

classic games than trying to schedule nuetral site games on our own like ND does.

to be honest

Jan 10, 2013, 1:58 AM

Id much rather just continue up north to OSU so I can experience there game day environment. If we gotta go to Tenn why not Ohio? Home and home would be amazing.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: to be honest

Jan 10, 2013, 9:37 AM

As a former Buckeye fan (thank God for the word former) and Clemson grad, I would love to see this game happen. Be even more fun to win and talk trash to my OSU grad father on the way back from Nashville!
as far as game day environment goes (my first game ever was mich and osu when i was 8, best game i went to with 107,000 others was when Vince Young and Texas went to Columbus) the environment does not in any way compare to what we have here in Clemson! They may have more people on hand but I have way more fun at the Valley than at the Shoe.
NO COMPARISON! We have better food, prettier women, nicer weather, and southern hospitality.
GO TIGERS!

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Rather play Georgia, Georgia, Georgia!!!!!! Does our admin.

Jan 10, 2013, 2:42 AM

and UGA's just not get it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Remember...

Jan 10, 2013, 9:21 AM

It was UGA that dropped us back in the 80's when we were beating them both on the field and on the recruiting trail. Vince Dooley was particularly upset when John Johnson (a GREAT linebacker) chose Clemson over in-state UGA. Vince soon went to work on cancelling the series. These days, many SEC teams may schedule tough OOC games every now and then, but they don't like to do it on a regular basis...

For those of us who were there to see Woody and Charlie at the Gators, I say "what took so long?". Hopefully the next game will be at the Shoe.

Nashville is an awesome town and is about 5.5hours from each school. Easy drive, good weekend, huge win.

Jan 10, 2013, 9:12 AM

Come on, who doesn't want to see Ohio State in Death Valley?! Who doesn't want to pay Columbus a visit?

Let's do this the right way-- home & home.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wondering about this - in an odd year?

Jan 10, 2013, 9:30 AM

We typically do something like this when we have South Carolina at home so we keep 7 home games.

The 5-and-4 / 4-and-5 ACC schedule is gone now that we're back at 8 conference games.

So we would have 6 home games (4 ACC, 2 OOC), a neutral site game 5 hours from campus, and 5 away games (4 ACC and @Chicken State).

That's not overly likely. Possible, but not likely.

Nashville is a haul for both schools, and I don't know of a particularly large fanbase there for either school.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I imagine we'll see more of this...

Jan 10, 2013, 10:04 AM

...as teams in so-so conferences look for games to bolster their SOS in the era of four-team playoffs.

Winning a game like that is a huge chip you could cash in at the end of the year.
