If I had to

Nov 19, 2012, 2:10 PM

choose from that group of schools only.. I think I would go after cincy

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How about forcing ND to join as a full member?***

Nov 19, 2012, 2:26 PM

well like I said if i had to choose from just that group...cause of course ND is #1 option

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That should be the NUMBER 1 Goal******

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How do you force them? There's a contract.

Nov 19, 2012, 3:03 PM [ in reply to How about forcing ND to join as a full member?*** ]

Not that those seem to mean much these days.

ND has 0 incentive to join fulltime.

NO MORE BASK. SCHOOLS!!!***

Re: NO MORE BASK. SCHOOLS!!!***

Nov 19, 2012, 3:41 PM

You know what? It's not like Maryland's a better football school than any of those options.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

True, and I understand that...but!

Nov 19, 2012, 8:20 PM

I wouldn't wanna make a change for another BB school.

We need to go for broke,basicly...for ND.

Re: Football Update: Source: ACC in talks with several schools

Nov 19, 2012, 2:18 PM

I agree...none of those...my preferences would be in no particulare order...
Penn State
Vanderbilt
West Virginia
Navy

But, we need to get ND in the fold for football.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Penn State would be hysterical...

Nov 19, 2012, 2:30 PM

"Ha! We got Maryland and Rutgers from... Wait, what? Nooooooooooo!"

Probably won't happen though.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

UConn was nothing in basketball before Jim Calhoun

Nov 19, 2012, 2:21 PM

and there's a great chance they'll return to mediocracy now that he's gone. I just don't see UConn as being any kind of decent choice. To boot, they'd likely come in the Atlantic, giving us one more meaningless football game on our schedule.

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

oh dear god no. No, no, no. Please tell me that the ACC is

Nov 19, 2012, 2:22 PM

not seriously considering replacing a top-50 academic institution with one of these Institutes of Advanced Cosmetology.

Why must we insist on poaching from the Big East? It's

Nov 19, 2012, 2:28 PM

obvious that it's not going to strengthen the conference. Clemson and FSU need band together and present a dual package to another conference that is serious about football.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A team from the big east is the ONLY choice. Of those......

Nov 19, 2012, 4:25 PM

mentioned I say Louisville 1st choice and Cinn 2nd. I would not offer South Florida.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I wish ACC would grow a pair and go after someone from SEC***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I wish ACC would grow a pair and go after someone from SEC***

Nov 20, 2012, 7:48 AM

My top choice in order would be:
WVU
Penn St.
USF
UCF
UL

I would not even consider Uconn or Cincy, they simply are not a option.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

UofL best option by far...

Nov 19, 2012, 2:34 PM

and I would support them fully.

There have a very committed athletic department, are serious about football, one of the top all time basketball programs and a very good baseball program (in CWS a few yrs ago).

They would fit in nicely and would most importantly be a good football counterpart.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

FORGET THOSE SCHOOLS--get NOTRE DAME (fb)

Nov 19, 2012, 2:44 PM

if I had to choose from the group above...

S.Fla

forget those Bask. schools!!

UConn, better in football and bball than USF***

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-jospehg.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, I really don't want any from the list above

Nov 19, 2012, 8:22 PM

but thought S FLA was the best choice.
If we go UCONN, we might as well make our bid to
the BIg 12 conference....which quite frankly, would
be fine w/ me.

Re: UConn for sure***

Nov 19, 2012, 3:51 PM

You need to do some checking on your post:

UConn class of 2016 average SAT score = 1225
Clemson class of 2016 Ave Sat score = 1245

badge-donor-10yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Between UConn, USF, Cincy, and Louisville...Clemson

Nov 19, 2012, 3:57 PM

already in ACC.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-jospehg.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NO, somewhat YES, NO and NO

Nov 19, 2012, 2:56 PM

Honestly, get ND to join as a full member or do nothing. Eliminate divisions and let the 2 top teams play in the ACCCG. Besides, for all sports other than football the ACC has 14 teams. The ACC doesn't necessarily need another football member.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

the big east is a weak fb conference for a reason..

Nov 19, 2012, 3:04 PM

acc is a weak conference so we poach other weak football schools lol makes sense.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Football Update: Source: ACC in talks with several schools

Nov 19, 2012, 3:38 PM

Please don't let it be UConn, please!!! Louisville sounds really good to me - good in b'ball and f'ball.

badge-donor-10yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

all of them

Nov 19, 2012, 4:07 PM

Maybe one can become bowl eligible.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: all of them

Nov 19, 2012, 4:41 PM

I would prefer the ACC add UCONN. (of these schools listed)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: all of them

Nov 19, 2012, 4:46 PM

I think Georgetown is a good fit geographically and academically as well, although neither school brings an extremely strong football program to the table. (at the moment)

Both bring elite basketball programs though...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: all of them

Nov 19, 2012, 4:49 PM

and either would potentially bring strong academic institutions to the ACC, as well as expand the geographic footprint.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: all of them

Nov 19, 2012, 4:51 PM

Georgetown seriously??? You want the ACC to survive as a football conference or what? You add Georgetown and you can kiss FSU and us goodbye as well.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Best thing Clemson and FSU can do is

Nov 20, 2012, 7:46 AM [ in reply to all of them ]

get the H*^$ out!
