Need 16 Team Playoff Playoff ....

Winner of each BCS Conference (11)
+
5 wildcards (determined by ranking not a BCS conference champion)
= 16 teams
8 + 4 + 2 + 1 current Bowls used for payoff games
Leftover Bowls can be used for the usual exhibition matches
Reduce regular season to 11 games to make room

16/8/4/2/1? These kids cannot play 5 more games! Is that what you meant?

Of course they can.

A 16 team playoff with an 11-game regular season schedule means:
8 of the teams would actually play fewer games than they do now (11 plus playoff instead of 12 plus bowl).
4 of the teams would play the same amount as they do now. (11 plus two playoff instead of 12 plus one bowl)
2 of the teams would play one more game than they do now.
2 of the teams would play two more games than they do now.
That's hardly worse than what they do now, and not any worse than any of the playoff subdivisions.

human polls - including the AP poll which is potentially the most biased by media.
The computers are what have us ranked so low - so this totally blows your media bias argument out the window.

The SEC has 5 teams in the top 12 in all 3 human polls.

4 of them are ranked ahead of us in every one. Having all of these SEC teams ranked this highly from the start practically insures that the SEC has multiple top 10 teams going into bowl season. You can't convince me that having the SEC treated as it's flagship product by the premier sports media network in the world does not give them an unfair advantage in terms of influence and that it does not create a bias, conscious or not. ESPN definitely creates the impression, whether it is true or not, that the SEC has some kind of mystique, an almost magical power that, well, you know, makes it the best football conference in America, and that any team in that conference is better for it, no matter how terrible they may be in reality. So, while we may be 8th or 10th in these polls, there will always be 4 ahead of us until a non-SEC school beats them.
I don't know how the computers arrive at the SOS factor, but I can't help but wonder if the data used isn't corrupted by this same bias.

I wish they could explain to me why ANY team with 2 losses is still in the top ten WITHOUT using the lame old excuse "they play in the SEC...the toughest conference in college football"

Could someone please explain how in the h3ll Florida is that high? They struggled at home to Missouri........freaking Missouri. And I don't care what anyone else says. Oregon and K-State are both better than Bama.

ACC stinks. CU & ACC have ZERO quality noncon Ws, many Ls.

People here act like the BCS is unfairly discriminating against Clemson but the computers legitimately ding Clemson because our SOS is pathetic. * Clemson hasn't beaten a good team yet. * Clemson has only beaten 2 AQ teams with winning records, Wake & Duke.
The ACC absolutely stinks this year. * The ACC is 5-10 vs non-con AQ schools. * The ACC has zero wins over currently ranked non-con opponents. * The ACC has 4 losses to non-AQ teams.
ACC Wins Over AQs: FSU beat USF Clemson beat Auburn NCSU beat UConn UMD beat Temple UVA beat PSU
ACC Losses to AQs: NCSU lost to Tennessee UMD lost to UConn UMD lost to WVU BC lost to NW Miami lost to K-State (52-13) UNC lost to Louisville Duke lost to Stanford VT lost to Pitt VT lost to Cinci UVA lost to TCU
Notable ACC losses to non-AQs: BC lost to Army GT lost to BYU GT lost to MTSU UVA lost to LaTech

We play a schedule agreed upon years ago....

if I'm not mistaken. We can do NOTHING about that. I agree, the ACC stinks this year but we beat the teams we are scheduled to play, and beat them like a drum. We lost to a what the coaches think is a top 6 FSU. A team I like against 4 of the 5 teams the BCS has in front of them in the top 10. Yes, the SEC has Bama and had LSU but when the outcome of the games between UGA, LSU, Fla., and Usuck come down to 4,5, or even 6 turnovers, you aren't going to convince me they're all playing solid top 10 program football either. Bama, K State, and Oregon....then the rest. IMO, my Tiger's would give anyone a tough game. GO TIGERS, not a conference we can deflect to in an attempt to hide my past.
