Option presents many challenges, including cut blocks

The Tigers face a stiff challenge this week in Paul Johnson’s option attack, an offense the Tigers have had precious little success in stopping. Full Story »

See what Tig is doing in the pic? Keep doing that

Knock the QB's head off. EVERY SINGLE TIME! If someone misses him them bench their butts and put someone else in. This is the game you need a head hunter in.

I truly see it just like this. Their cut blocks can seriously injure our players for the rest of the season or their career. Our guys should seriously do it to them before it gets to us. All is fair in their style of FB. For the GT players to be taught to seriously hurt the other team players is Wrong. But as of now, the rules say other wise. Until that rule on cut blocking has been changed. All other teams should do their best to injure the GT players first. Let PJ be the one worrying about playing his 3 & 4 string guys next week.

We'll see how many holding calls GT gets away with (like the one in the photo). They seem to get a bunch of no calls in Atlanta each time in their favor. The crowd will be watching in Death Valley.

Please assist, I just awoke from a coma this morning

after about a year.

Explain to me the legality of the cut block. Is it legal or not? I thought this was a penalty, and you couldn't go down and take out knees at the line, or something like this.

OK, then, so if it is legal, and it's so effective and punishing, then why doesn't every team use it? Why only this team? Or is it that they just some how get away with illegal stuff b/c they know where the thin line is.

Didn't I understand one time that Wake Forest does this a lot too?

For that matter, why don't we do it to them, then?

I believe it's only illegal if you do it to someone who's already engaged with a blocker, so you can't take out someone's knees from the side.

I agree, if it's that effective then why aren't we doing it?***
