A correction...

according to the media guide, Phil was born in Bakersfield, CA. I believe his family moved to Cooperstown when he was in middle school. He certainly doesn't have a NY accent.

It doesn't say he was born in Cooperstown, just that the love of baseball was from an early age. "Spent much of his youth" in cooperstown.

Now granted it could have been edited.

My 12 year old's baseball team played in Cooperstown

last summer, I was one of the coaches. What an INCREDIBLE experience!
Wore a Clemson hat downtown one afternoon, had 3-4 locals come up to me and talk about Pohl.

nice to see another person from ny enjoying his time at cu.live east of albany, almost to vermont.almost ashamed to say i've never been to cooperstown.will have to go this year when the upstate has thawed out.it's a truly beautiful area up here.we're a universe apart from ny city and the downstate.unfortunately, that's the area that comes to most people's mind when ny is mentioned.
