Dwane you will be missed! His comments sounded more heartfelt than any I've ever heard.

That is the way Dwayne has always spoke Clemson. Through his heart....

DANG!!!!!!!

Jan 7, 2012, 1:08 AM

I wish him the best but man imagine if we could have had one more year with D.A under Chad Morris????? Will always wonder.

AUBURNS Michael Dyer released?

Jan 7, 2012, 2:09 AM [ in reply to Re: Front Page Story: Allen to enter NFL Draft ]

Maybe we should go after him if we lose out on Davis. Hope between Gurley and Davis we can at least get one of them since we lost out on Marshall.

I am worried though cause Mike Davis posted picture of him and Marshall,Gurley, Cromwell and labeled it 4 horseman for UGA. If UGA gets all the RB talent in Southeast then UGA will be tougher than FSU to beat.

Top 1 or 2 TEs in draft. $mart choice. Good luck.***

Thank you Dwayne. I'm proud of your athletic accomplishments. I think your statement about finishing and graduating says more about your maturity than anything. I hope you end up on a team that loves tight ends, and I hope you score a ton of points. Represent!

Juniors going pro has ruined CF***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed. Understand the "why", but think of what he he could

Jan 7, 2012, 8:44 AM

do if he stayed, all time Clemson records for a TE, back to back Mackey's and who knows what else.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Instead he will go pro and probably sit on the bench for

Jan 7, 2012, 8:47 AM

a good long time before he gets his opportunity to shine

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Jack, put yourself in his shoes. If he is the #1 or #2 TE

Jan 7, 2012, 10:11 AM

taken in the draft this year, he'll get a significant amount of money for him and his family, and then developing as a football player will be his job, full time. He'll have access to the best in terms of facilities and training for his chosen profession. He'll start learning his new team's offense, getting used to the speed of the next level, etc., etc., all a year ahead of schedule. All while making a great salary AND with his college degree.

I'd love to have him back too, but this is a smart choice for him and his family.

Great point! After all, there definitely aren't any young tight ends making immediate impacts in the league right now...*cough*Rob Gronkowski*cough*Aaron Hernandez*cough*Jimmy Graham*cough*

This was absolutely the right decision. It would have been great if he stayed but his stock is at its highest right now. It's the right thing to do.

And in no way is letting junior declare for the draft ruining football. In what possible way is it ruining CFB?

P.S. Absolute best of luck to Dwayne. I'm excited to see him play on Sundays.

He could also get injured and miss a very large payday

Jan 7, 2012, 10:05 AM [ in reply to Agreed. Understand the "why", but think of what he he could ]

It is the correct decision

Uh, not really a junior. In football speak only. I would have loved for him to return. I, personally, would have made the same decision.

a player as great as Dwayne Allen, but I think this will be good for him. He really developed into a great leader for our team...HUGE shoes to fill.

Good luck to Dwayne Allen at the next level.
