Who would we rather get? Davis or Gurley?

Davis is obviously a legacy and I'd love to get him but he strikes me as a bit of a prima donna.

Gurley seems like he's a great back that not many people have on their radars.

I'd obviously love to get both of 'em but Gurley seems to be the best choice. Thoughts?

would rather have gurley

i think his size and speed fit our offense better than davis does.

Agree on both counts -

Davis appears to be a bit of a prima donna & Gurley fits in with our system better!

Just curious, but what has Davis done to suggest he is a

"bit of a prima donna"?

Yeah, I didn't really expect a response

Throw a jab to a high school kid, then leave.

I'll answer him for you. His decommitment from Florida that he made public with his comments on Twitter seemed to suggest an attitude or at least a love affair with the media aspect of being an athlete. It could have been dealt with much more privately. That being said, I'd still take him or Gurley.

he apprears more likely headed to the coots than the tigers

therefore tigerboard experts have concluded that he is not as good as any player that might end up a tiger

I think ability-wise they're pretty even, but I'd rather have Gurley because I think he wants to be here more than Davis does, at this point. So I'd rather have him.

You better not be...I think Gurley is a much better back...

I know Marshall is 'rated' higher, but Gurley's size alone makes him more valuable. And at least some experts see something there also. How did he win the top award in NC ahead of Marshall?

Davis, we need a power back to go w/ bellamy!!! Plus GA high school football trumps NC all day.

doesn't have to make guys miss. He just runs through them.

can go between the tackles with two guys on his back putting "Orange in the endzone". We could really use a guy like this and that's hoping Andre stays and Mike gets his head screwed on straight. Threats like those along with our corp of receivers and Tajh getting more comfortable scrambling would give opponent DCs absolute nightmares.

a combination of

zac brooks, gurley and hopefully bellamy would be freakin scary

We may not get either. You ask which one we would we

rather have. It's not our decision,it's theirs so let's hope we're the ones they would rather have. You have it backwards.

But to answer the question, let's take Gurley.***

I say Gurley ...He has that power, toughness, and ability to run over and through some people that we haven't had in quite some time ...He will get us that 3rd and 1 that we need!! ....Reminds me of Raymond Priester!

Re: Who would we rather get? Davis or Gurley?

if he can play like priester,we can sure use his talents.

whichever one is closest to trent r. #1.not a prima d. #2 breakaway speed, #3 tackle-breaking ability and #4 durability...from what i've read, you lose the breakaway speed in gurley. the durability thing will be an on-going issue if you run the spread and use the smaller more fleet type backs..#23 ae missed A LOT of time because of this.

any kid who says the coots are his leader is no favorite

player of mine, legacy or not

Gurley

Posted: Dec 28, 2011 4:06 PM

Mainly because I believe we have a better chance with him.I just think Davis will go to UGA to stay closer to home.Gurley is more of a UNC/CU battle..............

Not getting either...

Posted: Jan 6, 2012 9:34 PM

According to TI Gurley is favoring GA and UNC is pushing hard and NC State is the dark horse. Clemson has fallen off.

I'd rather get somebody that can actually play defense.***

Isn't Davis the more higher rated of the 2?**

Gurley...but I gotta bad feeling about it***

WRONG...just re-checked. Davis is a 4 star; Gurley a 3 star.
