Allen ready for possible last home game

Many draft experts have said that Dwayne Allen, should he choose to declare for the draft, would be the first tight end taken. Full Story »

Is he going to run down the hill with the seniors?

Nov 10, 2011, 9:49 AM

I hope not. Maybe Dabo won't make that bonehead move again.

I appreciate Allen and everything he has done for the university, but no underclassmen should be able to run down the hill with the seniors on senior day. That is part of the honor of senior day.

Isn't Allen( and for argument purposes, so is AE) academically a Senior ?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think you're right... however we're discussing Football

Nov 10, 2011, 1:26 PM

and not academics. Running down "The Hill" on Senior Day should be designated for actual Seniors only.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I keep hoping beyond hope that he returns for his Sr season***

Cant' see any possible way he does... no way he could

Nov 10, 2011, 10:00 AM

improve his draft position. He is the number one rated TE, can't get much better than that..

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe...just maybe.....

Nov 10, 2011, 10:06 AM

he wants to finish his degree and spend one more season playing in Morris' system with Boyd, Ellington, Brown, and Watkins among others.

Hey...I know it's a long shot but a fella can dream can't he?

Re: Front Page Story: Allen ready for possible last home game

I believe if Clemson wins the ACCCG and goes to the Orange Bowl, DA is gone to NFL greatness. The only thing left to play for would be a BCS championship. I guess it just depends on if possible championships will be enough to stick around and I hope it is. DA is a huge part of this team.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If indeed this is his last game in the Valley....

Nov 10, 2011, 10:04 AM

I hope he gets to make another TD catch, hand the ball to the ref, then turn and salute the fans.

It will be well worth the 15 yards.

then I hope he gets to salute the Clemson fans one more time in Columbia.

And Charlotte.

And Miami.

Story not needed

Nov 10, 2011, 10:19 AM

he already said he's staying.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Did you read the article? He said he realizes this could be

Nov 10, 2011, 10:35 AM

his last homegame. He just hasn't made the decision yet and he shouldn't until after the season is over.

Re: Front Page Story: Allen ready for possible last home game

For a guy like Allen to turn his character from his early days at Clemson a complete 360 says a lot about Dabo's ability to communicate with players like Allen. And for Allen to praise the fans with credit of creating a hostle enviroment says a lot for his growth of a leader. I love this guy, and Dabo needs to mold more just like him. GOOOOOOO TIGERSSSSSSSS!!!!

Michael Palmer

Nov 10, 2011, 12:39 PM

I remember talking to Michael Palmer after his terrific senior season about all the records for a tight end he set that year. He said they were all great but to just wait because Allen would go down as one of if not the best tight end in Clemson history. I'd say he was right.

Re: Bennie Cunningham

Nov 10, 2011, 1:08 PM

Bennie Cunningham is still the greatest TE in Clemson history IMHO ... Bennie had a terrific Clemson career being named 1st team All-American. He then went on to star for years at Pittsburgh catching passes and blocking for Terry Bradshaw.

Dwayne Allen reminds me a LOT of Bennie Cunningham and Dwayne could be right up there with Bennie after all is said and done.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Apex meant Seneca's own Bennie Cunningham***
