Kinda shows how worthless polls are. FSU lost a close one to the #1 OK Sooners and they drop like a rock. Isn't !1 supposed to beat #5?

Yeah, the coaches poll must be on crack. FSU loses to #1 in a close game and drops 9 spots, while USuC barely squeaks out a win against an unranked team and doesn't drop at all.

Something's not stirring the koolaid, Ace

We do Chicken right...it's not just for frying anymore!

FSU only dropped 5 spots. Oregon dropped 10 after @LSU loss

I'm not saying any of this ranking stuff is right or fair, but I'd say that FSU dropping 5 spots after a 10-point home loss is about normal for the polls. Oklahoma could have put up another score but behaved in a sportsmanlike manner by running out the clock.

i dont see Pitt or Cuse in the Top 25 at all... but i see WVU!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

WVU is #16 in AP poll, but #164 in USN&WR academic rankings.

Sep 18, 2011, 5:57 PM

According to US News & World Report, the academically weakest schools in the ACC are NCSU & FSU, which are tied at #101. Pitt is #58. Syracuse is #62. Clemson is #68.

WVU & USF are on another planet at #164 & #168. I don’t see the ACC presidents accepting that-- and they're the ones making the decisions, not football fans.

A realistic list of schools that might make sense academically, geographically, footballically, & TVically:
* Texas (dream) #58.
* TCU #97.
* SMU #62.
* Mizzou #90.
* Navy #14 among liberal arts colleges.
* Rutgers #68.
* UConn #58.

I'm not happy about expansion-- especially not the addition of Syracuse. I'm just pointing out the very real issue of academics from the presidents' viewpoint.
