My take...did we really expect anything less than an offense that was going to be up and down in the first half of the first game? I wasn't. The first series was amazing.

Everyone needs to remember what a second half team Auburn tended to be last year (Clemson, Alabama...) This is what we saw. So this brings me some hope.

The "power running game" we have been hearing about was weak. The o-line has to get better, and they may have to put Diehl in more just for blocking...if they can even do that. I'm am so so so happy that we have big playmakers to make up the gaps here.

The D was a C-...got gashed for big running and passing plays too much, and they didn't have enough 3 and outs. Teams might run all over us, but I trust Steele overall to do the best we can with what we have...just too small up front as a whole. It was really disappointed to watch Troy have so many sustained drives against our D and convert some long 3rd downs.

As for special teams, I enjoyed watching Cat-man hit the FG's, and I won't be surprised to see Sammy break a PR this year, but I was unimpressed with Bellamy on KR and could understand why it was Watkins and Ellington for the last KR.

Now let's hope the jitters are gone and the coaches work the bugs out, figure out the strengths, and use this next game against Wofford for all that again in preparation for the real season that starts with Auburn.

I was impressed with Troy's execution on special teams.

There's a chance our blocking was just bad, but I liked their scheme and their kicker put it where it needed to be on kickoffs.
