Quality talent with Brownell's ability to coach them up. Things should be going in the right direction in BB....

Awesome job with this TNet, i love video content

Now lets get some meat on these boys bones. Get them working out like the old 1981 Football team in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5UOvJyPcAw at the 0:34 second mark... LOL

Agreed. Wonder why none of the other sites have that. Or why the Clemson home site doesn't have it.
I also think the Clemson home site should hire a writer to have constant features on our athletes and have expressed. Kind of got a "thanks but no thanks" email.
They said they were focusing on video. If so, where is it?

Agree---report to Training table & weight room immediately

Here are 2 sure ways to improve the talented young men seen now on campus...

Love the video links and attention to hoops in July!

While adding muscle can help, it is not nearly as important in basketball as it is in other sports. In fact, too much muscle is a very bad thing.

Conditioning, playing time (pick up games), and individual skill work are the most important things for a basketball player to work on. For incoming Freshmen, gametime in the early cupcake games will be critical. They need to get up to speed with the college game. Remember Harrison Barnes last year?

Love coach Brownell, and what he is trying to do.Like the videos, but unfortunately none of this matters without a Big man.You have got to have at least one true center who can dominate in the paint.Otherwise the Dukies and the Tarholes will continue to rule the roost.

you always seem to have something negative to say***

name these dominate centers in college bball. if they are dominate they are in the nba

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You think Zellar and Plumlee are "dominant"??

Jul 12, 2011, 10:32 PM [ in reply to Re: Meet the Freshmen ]

They get their points due to a lack of ability or size on the other teams, not because of their domination. They are very limited in the overall basketball futures---don't believe the Tobacco Road hype on ESPN.

Two words Buddy...

I'm impressed. Smart guys and hard workers.

Jul 13, 2011, 6:52 AM [ in reply to Re: Meet the Freshmen ]

That's what it sounds like at least. I don't think we'll lose to the coots again for a few years.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Welcome to Clemson, guys.***

5 very humble and well-spoken young men. Nice.

Jul 12, 2011, 10:52 PM

They all sound as if they know the meaning of the word "team".

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Really good stuff!

Jul 12, 2011, 10:53 PM

our basketball program is fun to watch.

Re: Really good stuff!

1. I love watching stuff like this. Getting to see the personality and mannerisms of these guys is awesome. It's one of the reasons why I like college basketball more than college football. There are only 11/12 players on the team and I feel like I have a solid grasp on their personalities. Football players, for the most part, are just random helmeted athletes wearing the Clemson logo. I'd also like to point out that I find the average college basketball player to be more intelligent and likable as a person than the average college football player.

2. In that picture Sullivan looks about 6'6. Let's hope he's bending over a little.

3. I think we'll reach a Sweet 16 by the time this class leaves Clemson.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Words I heard over and over: Defense and Speed.

Jul 13, 2011, 1:56 AM

I like the smell of what BB is cooking!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nice to see a little height at the G position. And all of

Jul 13, 2011, 3:25 AM

these kids might still have some growing to do!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thought all of them were humble and well spoken, I liked

Jul 13, 2011, 3:42 AM

what Sapp had to say about Brownell. Great guy off the court, friend, mentor, etc., but serious and intense on the court. You could tell BB had already chewed some #### on the kids! Sullivan was VERY impressive.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree, they all had great manners too

Jul 13, 2011, 8:45 AM

a lot to say about kids at this level that say "sir" and "thank you".

I think the guard height will help us tremendously especially on Defense.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Make it idjit proof and someone will make a better idjit.

Is it just me?

Jul 13, 2011, 8:35 AM

or does Coleman look a little like Stitt?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yeah, also looks a little...

Jul 13, 2011, 9:48 AM

like Greg Buckner. Was really impressed with Sullivan and Sapp with their interviews. These five kids are going to be the cornerstone for Brownell's program before it is over...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

i liked all of them in their interviews

Jul 13, 2011, 4:33 PM

Brownells first recruits of his own at clemson and i cant wait to see what he can shape them into.
I can't wait until these kids senior seasons (assuming they all stay that long) and seeing what great things they have done

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yeah, also looks a little...

Watch out dare now!

Jul 14, 2011, 12:30 AM

This is a great Freshman Class! And thank you for providing these videos, who ever is responsible for that, great work! Each one of these young men has the potential to be what he wants to be and each one of them knows that and is SO comfortable stating it. Coach Brownell has done a great job with this class, and it is almost un-fathomable that he's done this in year one of his tenure. I don't care what the w-l record is in 2012, this team and this coach is going to be a joy to watch.

Go Tigers!
