Versatile Tennessee lineman has Tigers near the Top

The Clemson coaching staff offered one of the more versatile offensive linemen in the area last week, and with the offer jumped near the top of Graham Shuler’s list. Full Story »

is it me...

or is having Robbie Caldwell as our O line coach already paying dividends?

i'm ecstatic over the possibility of having a decent, or even dominant, offensive line. i think that would solve a lot of our problems

You are right on both counts. Coach Caldwell is a great addition, and a decent OL would have made a huge difference over the past decade. We have had too many weapons to not have been better than we have been. IMO

You're right that the OL has been an issue at times. Unfortunately, in the past decade at least, coaching was a bigger factor on the win column. Hopefully we'll be shored up on all accounts now.

Optimistic.

I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message.

Scott has always recruited well and brought in many fine prospects NOt just on the OL.

He did bring them in. I'll give him credit for that. The problem was that he didn't seem to get much out of them in terms of improvement after they got to Clemson. I think that is the real shame. I think a great OL coach would have been a lot better at player development, but BS was not that guy.

Be honest with yourself now. A stronger, bigger, and faster Oline would solve 98% of our problems. Especially on short yardage. The lack of a top notch Oline has been our biggest problem for years.

And what I see is a lanky 267 LB guy who will get bigger. He already does a good job of delivering a lick, albeit to guys much smaller than he'll see at Clemson, but he has the potential to be very special. I like his agressiveness.

CU got one of the best OL coaches in the counrtry

May 31, 2011, 7:48 PM

position for position, I believe he is by far the best coach on the CU staff.

He may not be HC material, but he can flat out coach an OL.

One thing I know I like about Caldwell........

He turned Spurrier down at least 3 times.

Smart man.
