Dont believe he can recruit from an admin position. Maybe handle the kids when they are on visits and camp.

Surprise the hate for Jeff, I heard several recruits say he was the reason they were coming to clemson.

Thanks for the great recruits Brad !***

listen to the end of Dabo's press conference. This man of character has done a terrific job at Clemson! It's obvious the ones who degrade the Scotts and have wanted them gone have no character and no clue what they are talking about.

I agree, bunch of retards.

You are right. This is a sad day for Clemson

Feb 2, 2011, 11:36 PM [ in reply to Anyone who has been critical of Coach Brad Scott needs to ]

We will never again have a line as strong as the ones Scott put on the field. We are now entering the dark ages of Clemson Football and may never again reach the pinnacle of offense that Scott took us to. Caldwell will never be able to match the player development and schematic prowess that has become synonymous with the Scott name. I really thought Dabo had us going in the right direction, but this move has set us back another 2 decades.

I like your post

Feb 3, 2011, 12:25 AM

Most of us critical of Brad were not anti Brad, just anti Brad as OL coach. If we had a good DC the years Brad was OC he would most
likely be OC today or head coach here or somewhere.

Re: Brad Scott to retire from coaching

Feb 2, 2011, 8:42 PM

While I am grateful for the contributions Brad Scott made at Clemson, I am one of his critics. The fact is our OL underachieved under his tutelage, and though our OL was pretty good at pass blocking, the fact is we couldn't consistently run the ball, and holes to run through were very rare indeed. Brad was a great recruiter, and I believe him to be a good man, but he was a pretty marginal OL coach. Most fans, myself included, didn't see the wonderful performances of our OL while he was here, and I am certain that we will see improvement in the offensive performance of our Tigers now that we have made the change. Flame me if you wish. Everybody has an opinion, but please don't question my loyalty to Clemson or to the football team, and please don't question my integrity. Most people would say it is impeccable, and I don't make snap judgements. Also, I was a former Clemson left OT, so I do know a little about it.

I think that Brad has the up most respect from every Clemson fan alive. Even from the ones that were some times hard on him. I'm just happy that I can say I have never said anything bad about Brad Scott. You know fans, it has always been a love/hate relationship between fans and coaches....

Re: Brad Scott to retire from coaching

I never thought it would be like this, but hearing this announcement as his retirement, it's a bit touching.

Brad Scott has served under this university in a variety of roles since he was brought in. Now, he's putting ego aside and saying, "I know I'm a coach, but I really excel at making connections. I'm the best at connecting with these kids, making them feel welcome, let me focus on that and let someone else handle the day to day coaching. I may have been a socar coach, but I'm ALL IN. I'm using my talents to help Clemson as much as possible."

Thanks, Coach.

I'll never forget sitting up in the trustees box and watching Jeff run in a fake field goal against UCF.

Thank you. Thanks for Jeff, and Thanks for Robbie Caldwell.

I'm sure he'll continue as an excellent coach.

Three cheers for Brad Scott!!!!

Article well written and speaks to the heart of Brad Scotts success as a man of character and quality that resulted in bringing quality players to Clemson. Thanks for your perseverance and dedication to Clemson. Dabo sums it up as well as it can be done. I have attended several FCA events with Brad Scott. It is this that seperates him, Tommy Bowden, CJ Spiller from others and has allowed them to rise above others in college football.
