“He told me he was going to be looking for someone who can throw the ball and run the ball,” Stoudt said. “He is looking for someone who has a good scheme on offense and a good track record. We briefly talked about Coach [Chad] Morris, and Coach Swinney told me that he is a pretty good coach. I know that he has one year at Tulsa, but he had a great record in high school in Texas. I am excited whatever direction he takes.”
Say what you want, but he is a heck of a pitch man.

Just can't throw less than 35 times in a game when he doesn't have the receivers or the QB.

Reminds me of Steve Fuller

Same body type. Watching the film, he sets to throw like Fuller. He gets the ball out quick. Accurate, elusive, can roll to either side and make any throw on the move. Distributes the ball well to his receivers. Doesn't have blazing speed but not afraid to tuck it and run when he sees green. Looks pretty good. Put an orange #4 on him.

Unless we get another Jerry Butler, saying this guy looks like Steve Fuller is damning with faint praise. Fuller's completion percentage was dramatically better because Jerry Butler could catch ANYTHING, including those wobbly, off-target throws of Fuller's. I was in school then, and watching Fuller throw the ball made me hold my breath every time.

Fuller was a "get it done" kind of guy, and it was he who took the Bears to the Super Bowl. The show boat they had was hurt the whole season, and he came back just in time for the big game. But for Fuller, they never would have made it to the big dance. I'll take a winner like Fuller any day.

Gotta remember Fuller ran the option full time as well

he took a beating every play. Most option QB's have their passing affected by the pounding they take. He was good enough to be a 1st round pick and have a long NFL career
