"The Night Before the Orange Bowl"

Twas the night ‘fore the Orange Bowl and all through South Beach
Not a Buckeye was stirrin, as a win seemed in-reach.
The gamecocks were back home roosting in their nests
Because their bowl game had been non-BCS.
And The Chad with his offense and Brent with his D
Had just finished planning how to ensure victory.
When out on the beach there arose such a commotion
It was as if ol Spurriers visor had been thrown in the ocean.
When what to my wondering eyes did show
But the Clemson team bus with equipment in tow.
And a sweat-shirted head coach, so young and so witty
I knew right away it must be Dabo Swinney.
More rapid than Spiller his players they came
And he yelled and hollered and called them by name:
“Now Watkins, now Jarrett, now Shuey, now Hot-Rod!
On Beasley, on Bryant, on Humphries and Tajh!
To Sun Life Stadium, we embark on our mission:
To bring home a win, under any condition!”
So onto the field, his soldiers they stormed
As Urban looked on he became forlorn.
And then with a bang the game did begin
Although all along, it was clear who would win.
Up and down the field, the Tigers marched at will
Led by Tajh Boyd, whose play did indeed thrill:
His passes¬--- how they flew! His scrambles, uncanny!
His throws were on-point, even deep-balls to Sammy!
Poor Braxton looked dejected on the opposing sideline
After being sacked by Vic Beasley, time after time.
And Hyde had no hope to run through any holes
For all were plugged by the D-line’s merciless souls.
Urban spoke not a word, but looked on in dismay
While Clemson proved victorious at the end of the day.
As the Buckeyes looked teary and started to weep,
Dabo hoisted the trophy and yelled, “WE TOO DEEP!”
