Good one Spud. I read where they are making artificial reefs out of old tugboats. You think they will remove Dug from his before they sink it ?

I am on a boat right now built in 1973 that is going out of service by July of this year .
New Coast Guard regs say that if you work in the petrochemical trade your tug cannot be more than 40 years old .
The Emerald Coast is nearing her last bend .
Not sure if she'll be scrapped or just used pushing rock and mud barges around in the future .
Anywho ....

So you’re getting some new digs? If I were you I’d go all out and request one with a flashy new 25HP outboard motor.

Don’t skimp, ya know what I mean?

Dug .... you probably pushed some of my dad's old tankers around. He was a radio officer for Standard Oil of NJ and spent over 20 years on tankers, in and out of your neck of the woods all the time. He has been gone many years, but I guess some of his old ships are still in service although they would be very old now.

Would they really know the difference?***

I actually went on that boat in 1998 in Charleston during the old tugboat festival . Cool little rig , but not enough power to do any real work .
That is Gilmerton bridge in the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River though , if my eyes don't deceive.
