His record is 51-53 and gets paid $5 Million per year by FSU.
John Gruden also has an overall losing record as HC and gets paid $10 million per year.
These things keep me awake at night wondering ### is going on!!
In my time you had to prove yourself over the long haul and THEN you were rewarded.

It's a hire based off of potential. You can't just look at his record, you have to look at what he has done by the time he left previous stop. He took in dumpster fires and moved on to a better program as soon as they got respectable. I think it's a good hire if he can get some O linemen and change the culture that Jimbo made toxic.

. . . . some of these post are discouraging! It simply makes no sense to basically, "want the biggest threat in your division to have some superior coach"!
What's really going on? We should be celebrating this if we really don't understand Willie Taggert has taken jobs no one else wanted and still is about .500. SMH at some of the comments! Not everyone can take a dumpster fire and win right away! Remember Jimbo struggled mightily his last year there despite great recruiting classes! And this guy hasn't even been there a year! What's really going on.
Bad for FSU! Good for Clemson! Maybe we get some of those players over the years we would ordinarily lose to FSU! So, stop it already!
And yep! He was hired on the grounds and knowledge "he takes on dumpster fires" and stabilizes them! That's all! He is a good coach and will be formidable if given enough time!

Tagger was hired because of his color. FSU announced early in the process they preferred a MI,purity coach. There are great minority coaches out there, but FSU did not want to cough up the coin to hire them.

where his team finished 8 - 5 and 11-2 respectfully. The 11-2 season culminated with a win over u5c in the Birmingham Bowl.
Otherwise, Taggart has been mediocre at best and FSU knew that when they hired him.

The term “Failing Upwards” muschump and taggart are the two best examples I’ve ever seen.
