Not if they're all solo homeruns. Doubt many people will get on base around him.

They only won 67 last year with a better team.
They may be 25 games out of first place by the All-Star break.

I don't know that last year necessarily was a better team.

The offense should be upgraded some. (That's not saying much, as the Braves were historically bad last year.)
If healthy, the bullpen should be much, much better. (They were historically bad last year, too.)
The defense will be worse, and that is my main concern.
It's hard to lose over 100 games, and I don't think the Braves will do that this year.

I have ZERO confidence in this years team which is really disappointing since I have been a Braves fan for over 40 years and have witnessed some really bad Braves teams.
I watched a few of the games during Spring training and I didn't recognize hardly any of them and those weren't even split squad games.

Some of the ones you may not recognize are not bad.

For example, Ender Inciarte will probably be their second-best player. He was an outstanding pickup.
The biggest positive difference will hopefully be in the sixth through ninth innings. Last year that was just a bloodbath. This year, they've got a decent stable of arms out there, if they can keep them healthy.

Well, mine too. 60 games is a little extreme, though.

I would be pretty pleased if they won 70 games.

I get why they did it but I still didn't like it.

I know what you mean. That trade is, IMO, the single

biggest negative on the 2016 season. The difference between having Simmons out there and anybody else is just enormous.
But if Sean Newcomb fulfills his potential, it will be a steal of a trade the Braves made.

and while he has a boat load of potential, he is as green as frogs gills and has zero experience against major league hitters.

Last year was not a better team, by any stretch.
Neither team is good, but this is a better team if the rotation can do anything good at all.

We'll be begging for Ken Oberkfell and Dion James before this season is over.

Maybe. At the current rate they are on a pace to go 0-162.

yep that was a great start to the year.
Nothing like blowing a 9th inning lead to start off a miserable year.
