For me: the fact that their fans filled uP that big stadium virtually every game over that dismal 1-21 string of losses.
Wonder how Tiger Fans would have reacted.

If you can't get into any of the really good state schools, USC is where you can land and still feel like you got a college experience. God bless their lower standards.

Big school that is easy to get into inflates the size of the fan base.
In the center of the state so an easy drive for all.
There is nothing great to do in Columbia.
