Why the anti-Ellis J. sentiment?

Nov 28, 2012, 4:31 PM

I doubt it would happen, but he's a very good DC. He's the architect of that D that just stuffed our offense 2 years in a row, when no other team could even slow us down.

Plus, he'd likely be around for at least 5 years, allowing for some stability. He'll now be off of the HC radar for any openings for a while, due to the season he had at USM. Mickey Andrews was the anchor of the FSU program all those years. I see some similarities.

Of course, there's no opening here, so the conjecture, I guess, is kind of pointless.

The only thing I know about it is that he's made some SEC superiority comments kind of indirectly towards us over the last few years, but really, he was right on with what he said.

Isn't he a Citadel guy?

Nov 28, 2012, 4:37 PM

I work with someone who was there with him and said he was a great person.

Yes, that's correct.

I always liked listening to his interviews on the radio. He's old school, in a Nick Saban kind of way, and nothing wrong with that. He used to want USC to be more physical in practice than Spurrier would allow.

Perhaps beacuse he's already been our DC once?

With mixed results I might add.

I also didn't care for some of his comments about Clemson while he was at coot U.

Ellis was swept out quietly in the middle of the night and it had nothing to do with his coaching. I'm not sure the admin would welcome him back.

I believe Ellis had too much to drink and had trouble keeping his hands off of a young lady in a bar.

you have to give BV some time to get his recruits into his system.

Because he wasn't really responsible for the success of the USC defense. It was that construction company owner others that bought all those players.
