Why don't guys bunt against the shift?

I don't understand why you don't just take your base.

For those lacking speed the catcher and pitcher can handle

the bunt. Really need to punch or slap the ball that way. Easier said than done.

Slow runners can beat a bunt down 3rd base line past pitcher***

The key is getting it past the pitcher...

basically bunting for a base hit (drag bunt or push). Power guys are not great at bunting or hitting to the opposite field. If he squares to bunt the pitcher covers the 3rd base line...which he is leaning toward anyways in a shift.
