Is it too steep in that area, too muddy? Too close to the band?

Student gates are on the South Stands side and I guess it's too far to walk to the other side of the hill. At least they were there and most students stayed to the end.

Just wondering if there's an issue with the ground or something. Odd that when there is room to spread out they always leave that same spot empty.
