Who hacked the ESPN computers?

Nov 18, 2018, 12:21 PM

Clemson jumped Alabama in ESPN's FPI. Time for a formula adjustment. [Actually, they got punished for failing to live up to expectations against The Citadel.]

How is S. Carolina’s REM SOS RK 64? Auburn’s is 1, of course.

Oh, that’s right. Akron.

another surprising metric is Game Score

Nov 18, 2018, 12:40 PM

Game Score: Measure of game performance including how well the team controlled the game along with the final result, accounting for site and opponent strength. On a 0 to 100 scale, where 100 is best.

ESPN says our best game performance was 28-26 against A&M. There’s got to be SEC bias baked into that metric.

Yep, I find that aTm Game Score Odd

However, we got 95s for both GA Tech and BC on the road too. I think the aTm score was helped by the fact that we were never behind after scoring our first TD in the 1st quarter.

Whereas we obviously didn’t beat Loserville by enough even when scoring 77 points.

Alabama has the same 76 game score for Louisville on a neutral field. They're so lowly ranked in FPI you just can't get a decent game score for whipping them.

Another reference point, Alabama only got a 51 game score for The Citadel game.

Maybe even ESPN is finally realizing that Tua is hurt and probably won't make it to the CFP if UGA injures him a little more. They see the handwriting on the wall, and it does not look good for Bama.
