What’s the rub on Hyatt?

Apr 26, 2019, 12:02 AM

He’s been solid for us since month 4. Hard to believe 4 OTs off the board and not him.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He’s under sized for a NFL left tackle.

Apr 26, 2019, 12:04 AM

??

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

6'5" 310 lb is undersized? Jonah Williams is 6'5" 302 lb***

I’m not an expert, I’m just repeating what the NFL scouts

Apr 26, 2019, 12:20 AM

Say about him, short arms, small hands, and small frame. They’re looking for left tackles with long arms and big hands.

Bad part is that still makes his point:

Jonah Williams
arms: 33 5/8
hands: 10 1/8
weight: 302 lbs
Height: 6' 4"

Mitch Hyatt
arms: 34 1/8
hands: 10 1/4
weight: 303 lbs
height: 6' 5"

Oh no, I got chewed up and put in place that I don’t know nfl talent fir saying the same thing.

The only reason I even care about the draft is Clemson players.

On CBS’s site he’s the 177th best available. That’s 5th or 6th round.

Of course CBS is as biased on the sec and b1g or they’d get fired. All about money with them news peeps.

Great footwork and technical use of hands but not that

Apr 26, 2019, 12:22 AM

overpowering according to scouting reports I have read - more of a "finess player".

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's projected as a guard, not athletic enough to play LT,

Apr 26, 2019, 12:42 AM

not strong enough run blocker to play RT...Will play for a decade, at G

The NFL scouts apparently watched a lot of MH75's film from Clemson practices and noticed number 99 on the DL sometimes beat him to get pressure on tbe QB. So they say, if he can't consistently lock down some college defensive lineman, how can he ever have success in tbe NFL? The Raiders however said, did you see that number 99 from Clemson practicing every play as if the Super Bowl was on the line? ;)

I take him everyday - GREAT 4 year starter for Clemson

Apr 26, 2019, 9:10 AM

Who the hell cares what the NFL thinks

He is better than BAMA's lineman that got drafted

Yep and Jonah got his lunch ate by Ferrell and I bet Hyatt held his own better in practice than Jonah did.

I mean I saw one play where he just pancaked the #### out of Jonah. It was awesome!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I’d take Hyatt in round 3-4

Apr 26, 2019, 9:40 AM

I think he’s being badly undervalued by analysts. But I don’t believe he is a day 1 or 2nd round talent.

Snowflake Basher........Out

He's a leaner/lunger and doesn't drop an anchor in pass pro.

Apr 26, 2019, 9:50 AM

He's also not as developed physically as you'd like to see a left tackle. I've also seen him give up the outside edge way too many times in pass pro.

Fruh was the better pro prospect physically, but his mental side/love for the game was lacking.

"Clemson has been historically better than Carolina. That's pretty obvious." - Classof09

"No one knew we were overhyped until the season started." - Classof09

Unfortunately, I see Hyatt going in the 6-7 or possibly Free Agent

Apr 26, 2019, 11:15 AM

I think his best chance in the league is Guard, possibly Cente and perhaps Right Tackle.
