What was with Bill Self after the game?

Mar 24, 2018, 11:22 AM

Didn't mention Clemson once in post presser about Clemson's effort?

Also, he left his alma mater Oklahoma State for the sister school in the same conference after saying he wouldn't take the job. What do Ok State fans think of him?

He was an Asst. at OSU, left for HC job at Oral Roberts.

Mar 24, 2018, 11:31 AM

His first Asst. job was at Kansas, he left for that Asst. job at OSU before leaving in order to be the man.

He looks like he likes the oral Roberts

Mar 24, 2018, 11:33 AM

and would gladly pay $20 to meet Gabe at the gloryhole.

If that is your cup of tea? He's a pretty good coach.***

He's good at whining to the refs

Mar 24, 2018, 11:38 AM

I feel bad for the crew who does the Kansas/Dewk game. One coach will be complaining all the way back to Manhattan or Durham one way or the other.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Most good coaches work the refs, yes - in every sport, so

Mar 24, 2018, 11:40 AM

it would make good sense that Bill does so as well.

They pissed away a 20+ point lead, why would he be happy?***

Agree. If they lose focus against Duke, they have no chance

Mar 24, 2018, 11:48 AM

This KU team is not the dynamic team they usually have at this time of year. Duke on the other hand has the best talent in the country.

KU was supposed to win and they did. Succeed and proceed. I wouldn't expect Self to get emotional about this win and scatter praise on his team or ours.

My guess is OSU is fine with him.

Mar 24, 2018, 11:40 AM

I'm sure they'd like for him to be their coach.

The secret is to never give any praise to the opposing coaches.

That's how you get to be that good.

Why is Bill Self considered to be one of the best coaches?

Mar 24, 2018, 10:05 PM

When you consider he has one of the top recruiting classes every year, in his 15 years at Kansas, he has one National Championship, but that is the only time he has made it to the Final Four! On numerous occasions, they have been a one or two seed, and get knocked out by a much lower seeded team. It seems to me, he could be considered an underachiever!

8 Elite Eights at 3 different schools. Took Tulsa there

Mar 24, 2018, 10:36 PM [ in reply to Why is Bill Self considered to be one of the best coaches? ]

in 2000. Two final fours. 1 NC. No underachiever.
