Spud, did you ask him if he knew how to paddle ? That is the first priority. When I fished with my Dad, i would ask him how many rods did I need. His response every time was "None, unless one of mine breaks" !!

I had to laugh at that bc, my older brother would take me fishing with him in my early teenage years, and even though he would never admit it, I'm sure he took me only to paddle the his little John boat while he fished around the willows and trees. And I'm sure that's why he never bought more than 75 crickets, it was bc he knew I wouldn't be using very many bc my line was hardly ever in the water!!! :) :)

After my last bird dog got too old to hunt, and I deer

Apr 7, 2020, 6:40 AM [ in reply to Re: I need a chiropractor after seeing SPuD’s pics! ]

hunted for about 5 years before I decided that just was not my thing, I used to go with a guy on his land and stands ocassionally. After a couple of years of that, I was talking with another friend who ocassionally went with the same fella. We quickly realized that we had sat in his stands about 50 times between us AND NEITHER HAD EVER SEEN A DEER. EEEEHHHHVER! We were draggers. Yep, nuthin' but draggers for the deer the host shot. So, the last time I went with him, I popped off a shot about 10 minutes after I knew he was settled into his stand, and then I started yelling as loud as I could," Hoss! Thas a Hoss!!!!!"......He came running faster than a buck in heat to find me laughing my butt off. He never invited me again.....

True - LBB !! But ... it’s comforting when Spud’s pics are sideways ... things are normal !! I get nervous when his pics are upright !! -<img border=">

If people were as good as their obituary - and products were as good as advertised - this would truly be a wonderful world !!

Well now, Spud, I just now saw your photo. Sure hope you made it home. Be extra careful out there, Spud. I sure don't want to have to inform Bud that you are sick with IT .Would devastate the ole man.

Through...But, anytime you catch a crappie on a half ounce spinner bait you gotta be happy!

Spud that is what I call a good size crappie, and just the pic makes my mouth run water. Crappie is my favorite fish to eat out of all fishes, fresh or saltwater. It's a sad thing for me bc, I haven't had a Crappie in the frying pan since my brother died almost two years ago. My brother and a friend of his had a floating cabin in Sparkleberry swamp, and we went in there for the weekend, 8 months before he died, and we caught over a 100 of those good size Crappies over a couple of brush piles they had sunk in about 15 ft of water. My brother told me then that he probably wouldn't be around much long to take me back in there again, and he wasn't. Great memories with tears flooded my mind and heart when I open your pic of that good size Crappie!!! ;)

The 5 crappie I caught yesterday wouldn't weigh as much as that one together.

I caught one just like that today off my pier- but it was the only one I got all day - but of course the turkey hunting, grocery run & trip for pool chemicals took priority over fishing

I started getting my pool ready yesterday, and it's amazing how everything was good when I shut it down, and all the work I have to do getting it up and ready for a dip.

Ours went from blue to green in 2 days during all the rain we had a couple of weeks ago - lots of stuff to put in over 2 days to get it right

Re: 2.4 lbs.***

I hate to hear that. I have the Frogger auto chlorine system on my pool, and it's been 15 years since I had it put in, and I've never seen any green water in it. I run the pump 6 hours a day with a #1 chlorine setting in the winter, and 14 hours a day with a #3 chlorine setting from April until the end of October. I change the Frogger Mineral pack twice a year, and my pool water stays crystal clear year round. Through the Frogger, I run the Mineral Pack and the Chlorine packs, then I mix 2 pounds of some QB- Brite non chlorine shock oxidizer in a 5 gallon bucket and pour in the pool once a week in the summertime, less in the winter. Depending on how much rain, I use baking soda to help keep the Alkalinity between 80-120. I try to keep the PH between 7.0-8.0. I'll also add about 15 pounds of calcium a week to help in keeping my liner soft and clean/bright. And I've had to change the liner once in the 15 years I had it, with the first one lasting 10 years. And my pool 8' on the deep end, and 4' on the shallow end, and it's a 16'X36' pool....
