We knew the transition from Paul Johnson would be tough...

So, we're 1-2, and our remaining schedule is:
at temple unc at duke at miami bye-week pitt at uva vpi nc state uga
I think we'll be an underdog in all of them. I'm trying to find a couple of wins. Maybe, just maybe, UNC and Pitt. UNC will be hung-over after getting pounded by Clemson. We get Pitt at home after a bye-week.
So, 3-9 at best. Based on point-spreads, 1-11. We will not be favored in any games, including this weekend at Temple.

gonna be a tough year, maybe two. I sympathize. We're a big Clemson family, but my Grandfather (1922) on my mother's side and my son-in-law (2015) are GT grads. GT has a deep football history that most people don't realize.
I have to say I never enjoyed GT games as they were always stressful and we lost half the time. PJ systematically dropped the program to a very low state. Yes, there were high-points int he beginning, but his style was long-term destruction for the program. You can't compete in a P5 program running an FCS triple option offense as we've seen.
There are better days ahead for GT, likley be 2021. Then we'll get back to last second wins in those games.

Moving on from a system like Paul Johnson's is extremely difficult and basically guarantees failure the first couple of years.
Gotta be patient and give Collins at least 3 years to flush out recruiting and turn over the roster.
Good luck!

I am a South Carolina native and Clemson grad. I am now a Georgia resident and proud mama of a Ga Tech grad. The only time I pull against Ga Tech is when they play Clemson. Your administration has got to decide if the school is going to invest in football. Paul Johnson used to vent about the lack of facility upgrades. You seemed to have hired a decent guy. It is going to be a long year but, hopefully you can surprise some teams.

I agree with you, and The Hill has always been a part of the problem, or maybe the root of the problem. But there has been a slight shift, and I think Collins will get more support than CPJ. I don't ever expect us to be a football factory type of school. We'll never be a UGA. But I think we can be alot better than we are, and commitment from the top can help.
I do think Collins deserves 3 years to re-build, and then by year 4, it should be obvious if he's the guy. And even if he's not the guy, I'm hoping he gives the next coach a roster that can compete. People often forget that CPJ's best years were mostly the first two when he inherited a very good roster from Chan Gailey. Tech can recruit. It just needs time.
