It's not the national stage.

It just happens that the 3rd game is on ESPNU and our pitching staff is paper thin. We would have won either of the first two games if they were on TV.

If you play a team 3 times (which is known as a "series") and you win 2 of the games, whereas the opposing team wins 1, that means the team with 2 wins takes the series victory
In this case, we are the winners. And even more, FSU was ranked #1 and our pitching was in very deep.
This was a great series for us

First off what do you mean by excel at? Our record on the National Stage, whether in the past ,or lately is nothing to brag about. In football we have a single NC which came 31 years ago.We are also 0-1 in BCS Bowls. In basketball the Tigers have one(repeat one)Elite 8 appearance and that came 32 years ago(1980).They have never won the ACC regular season ,or tournament championship. In baseball Clemson has been to the CWS 12 times and have a lifetime 12-24 won-loss record. They have also never appeared in the championship game where as the team 90 miles down the road are the 2 time defending CWS champs.

Coot here, but the CU team with Elden Campbell and Dale Davis won the regular season ACC. I liked Elden Campbell and followed him in college and the NBA even though I was only 7 or 8 at the time.
