this high in the AP poll was September of 1988. I was 12 years old. Here is some stuff from 1988 that may bring things into some perspective:
The most popular new movies were Beetlejuice, Rain Man, Big, and the original Die Hard. Ronald Reagan was in his last year as President. Space Shuttle flights resumed after the Challenger explosion. Rihanna was born. Some popular songs were "Sweet Child of Mine" by GNR and Billy Ocean's "Get Out of My Dreams - And Into My Car".
Danny Ford was our Football coach. That year we beat Oklahoma in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando and won our 3rd consecutive ACC Championship.
Take a long deep breath and enjoy it because this doesn't happen very often as you may guess. Like once a generation, and it usually doesn't last very long.

like him or not...we were built for the long haul! This go around will be better...we are building for the long haul and I think/hope Dabo is here for the duration!

No reason Clemson can't be a consistent winner. We fell off before because Hatfield stopped recruiting speed. Ken recruited bulk and was stuck in the 60s. We went from being able to run anyone out of the stadium to our fastest guy getting ran down by FSUs kicker. Dabo is recruiting to stay in rare air.

wife and I leaved in greenvagas, no children so we were able to go to most all the home games. all that changed 2 years later (well not all, still married)
