Watched Bama radio CFP

Jan 17, 2019, 10:55 AM

Saban waited until last second to tell Hurts he was going in. Then walked out and told Tua to come back. It was during the commercial break but the radio broadcast showed it unfold. Like it was killing him to make the decision.

“Clemson wasn’t that much better with Trevor Lawrence, if at all.”

Nick Saban is very QB-centric with his offenses. I would argue his best offenses were when he had AJ McCarron. He likes to become close with his QBs and operate his offenses through them. Saban's better teams operated best when he micromanaged his QB.

It was also a little creepy, especially the way ESPN described him obsessing over his QBs and always being in their ear. Almost in a predatory kind of way. Reeeeaaally creepy.

I watched this a few days ago. My question is who is the “cup holder”? He relentlessly follows Saban up and down the sideline as he paces throughout the entire game. It appears his sole job is to hold that cup of some type of drink for Saban to have at his whim. They talk about our get back guy on the Clemson sideline but I’ve never seen any discussion of the cup holder for Saban.
