Washington St vs Utah camera operators last night went AWOL

Sep 29, 2019, 8:17 AM

It was raining at their game last night. Players were still playing, cheerleaders were cheering and fans were in the stands but the TV camera operators took off because of the rain. They did come back after the rain slacked up some. The cameras were on the entire time but unmanned. It was like watching a game from a webcam. Don't think I have ever seen that. It was a FOX broadcast. I'm wondering if it was a union thing.

Strange!

The announcers said there was lightning in the area and those cameras were unmanned. Not sure why game wasn't delayed if that was the case.

ESPN's "policy" for cameraman safety. Feel lucky its your first time seeing it.

Baseball is even worse. You get the behind home plate angle only.

I'm gonna guess electrical cables and water don't mix well

somebody evidently got shocked, or there was some incident or lawsuit that led to this "policy".
