This pitching staff walks way too many hitters. Way way too many.

So someone else on TN has the same perception that I've had. Walks are probable killers for a baseball team. If our pitcher tonight in the 9th grooves the ball with two outs--what is the probability of the Duke hitter getting a HR or extra base hit. I am guessing it would be slim.
The FSU games and this one tonight should provoke Monte to take a more active part in assuring we do not put tying or winning runs on base by walking the opponents. We are killing ourselves by trying to be too precise
With many in the Tiger's lineup slumping at the plate, we have to protect leads in a different way.
