Very early predictions for next season!

Jan 15, 2017, 8:45 PM

Looking at things I think the defense carries this team. I can't see no worse then 9-3 and as good as 12-0. Depending how the the new An pans out and develops. My prediction right now would be 10-2. What y'all think

10-2. Probably play in Orange Bowl because I think FSU will make the playoff

we play them mid-season or later, we will be hopefully settled in with a new quarterback that is doing a good job.

FSU is going to be very good, but Dabo is saying encouraging things.

This is my prediction as well. 10-2 and an Orange Bowl win would be a great season with the players we're losing. If we make the playoffs next year they better start including Dabo in the "best coaches" of all time discussions. :)

The country couldn't stomach it but I want Clemson/Bama III

28-2, 2 conference titles, 1 national championship, 76-75 aggregate score.

LET'S SETTLE IT IN RD. 3

Some of y'all need to learn from the Bama fans.

We will be back . Mark my word.

And like you say, the D will carry the team .

Dare I say it will be better than bamas

Back to the NC game.

Jan 15, 2017, 9:16 PM

Bama did it with a half azs freshmen quarterback, a good RB corp and defense. We'll be better at all three plus we are slam full of top WRs.

We might lose a game but with a NC trophy, the CFP wins and the best coaching staff in the country, one loss won't eliminate us. It didn't take OSU out of the playoff.

Alabama's had a really good defense with 3 or 4 1st round draft picks on it but no dline depth. They needed oxygen masks in the 4th qt. thanks to their one dimensional offense. Their running back stable was really talented and deep. Their qb couldn't throw a forward pass but could run like a running back.

Clemson's dline will be elite similar to Alabama's this year but the LB's aren't as good as Alabama's this year. Clemson's running backs aren't as talented as Alabama's this year. The qb next year will throw better than Hurts as long as it's not Kelly Bryant.

I see Clemson in the 10-2 range next year. Probably a loss to FSU and maybe Louisville unless they tank like they did this year. I don't see a loss to VA Tech since Jerod Evans and Cody Hodges are going pro.

Re: Back to the NC game.

Jan 16, 2017, 3:30 PM

We will beat Louisville easily. Wildcard games are Auburn/FSU/VT(if on thursday) I say we go 1-2 in these 3 games. I think we lose to Auburn because of our new offense and it being so early in the season and we go 1-1 vs FSU/VT.

I think 10-2, but if we can get past FSU and go 11-1, then I think we play Bama again for the NC. FSU is going to be the key.

I was worried about VT, but their QB decided to leave early too. So we're good there. The ACCCG winner will come out of the Atlantic.

14-1 National Champions again

Jan 15, 2017, 11:30 PM

Just being realistic in giving us one loss during the season. Our defense will be off the hook and our QB play will get better as the year goes along and Cooper gets experience.

If he should get hurt Hunter Johnson or Kelly Bryant could step in and do well with our defense if it's early in the year but if he got hurt later in the year our defense would have to carry us in our toughest games. (Israel could win the position too)

Re: Very early predictions for next season!

Jan 16, 2017, 3:38 PM

I think our defense will carry us. I hope the running game doesn't have a sharp drop off after losing Gallman, because we will need to rely on that with a new QB at the helm.

I think Bryant, Cooper, or Johnson are all talented enough to win 9+ with an average season. I am not expecting another Deshaun Watson, or even the next Tajh Boyd. But 20+ TDs passing, a ground presence, and not turning the ball over at the QB position should be enough to carry us through a big chunk of the ACC schedule.

It will be a noticeable difference between Watson and the newcomer when we head to Louisville and Columbia and when FSU and Auburn come to town though. I obviously would like another 10+ win season, but there's some big games on the schedule next year that will be tough.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think Luhvulllll is gonna be our toughest task of the year

Jan 16, 2017, 8:55 PM

they've played us tight every single year....gotta go on the road with a young team....gonna be quite the challenge. At least we get FSU at home, without Dalvin Cook...

I am going to say 11-1 and we can very possibly see 2 ACC teams in college playoffs... just my opinion... certain things would have to play out but its possible

Re: Very early predictions for next season!

Jan 16, 2017, 9:32 PM

I don't see no reason why we can't win 10-11 games.
If we beat Auburn and are undefeated when we play FSU look out because it's on then.
VT and Louisville will be very beatable and we will have better players across the board.
Auburn, FSU, VT and Louisville will be the only teams on the schedule that have a chance to beat us.
No way we lose all 4 games so worst case next year would be 9-3.
